Practice

Post 2 - Sharing from your practice

Practice is such a personal and private thing… but I find other people’s practice fascinating, and often insightful.
If you feel comfortable, please use the comment section as a place to share notes, ideas, images or video from your own personal practice. Do so as often or infrequently as you like.

Post 1 - Let’s think about what it is

  1. What does your practice consist of right now? Where is your focus (technique, creative, just getting some movement in, choreography, multi-focused).

  2. Recall a time when you felt your practice was fruitful and positive. What were the circumstances at that time that enabled you to have this kind of practice? What is present in your life that could help you facilitate a similar practice experience?

  3. Recall a time when your practice didn’t feel fruitful or you couldn’t or didn’t want to practice. What got you out of that and found you returning to practice?

  4. Does your practice feel goal oriented or process driven currently, if you have a practice? There is no correct answer, this is an opportunity to start to understand how you view your own practice.
If you don’t currently have a practice, as an idea, are you drawn to a goal driving your practice or are you interested in the process?

  5. If you could add ONE thing to your practice, what would it be and why?
What’s stopping you from adding that?

  6. If you could take away ONE thing from your practice and still feel your practice is complete, what would that be?
What’s stopping you from taking that away?
